The primary purpose of this position is to The purpose of this position is to perform as a security assistant
performing typing, general clerical duties, and maintaining databases relating to security forces cases, traffic tickets,
debarments and revocations. Provides reports to higher headquarters, as required, concerning police responses and
crime statistics.
Duties
Maintains and tracks Security Forces incident reports, tickets, debarments, driving records, revocations, and suspenses using the Air Force Justice Information System (AFJIS).
Provides assistance for technical investigative support tasks.
Maintains control logs, files and accountability for all debarment actions pending and completed.
Performs a variety of administrative tasks related to the Reports and Analysis Section to include, but not limited to, consolidating material from reports, files, notes and rough drafts into final correspondence, distributes mail and reproduces material using copy equipment or computing software.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for the GS-0086, Security Clerical and Assistance Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes practical knowledge of specialized security methods, rules, regulations, principles, and procedures to resolve a wide range of problems and perform a wide variety of interrelated or nonstandard security assignments such as determining the kinds of information and supporting data required, and criteria to be applied, in clearance adjudication processes; evaluating derogatory information to determining if a SIF must be established; and ensuring that the SIF includes all supporting data required to complete adjudication determinations.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-06 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Ability to type a variety of official coorespondence, primarily for Security Forces Management Information System relating to security forces cases, incidents and traffics cases.
Knowledge of general and specific clerical and office functions and procedures, as well as correct grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and standard abbreviations to accurately prepare and edit written coorespondence and reports.
Knowledge of rules, procedures or operations applied to clerical assignment to perform routine, procedural work of
the office, such as preparing and editing documents, maintaining files/records, screening telephone calls and assisting
visitors and processing mail.
4. Knowledge of one or more automated databases associated with a specific security function to support office and
security operations and produce a variety of documents and reports.
Skill in typing, a qualified typist is required.
Ability to locate, assemble and compose routine, non-technical information for recurring reports and inquiries.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to plan and organize work, follow instructions, and accomplish multiple ongoing projects
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
