The location is the Coatesville VA Medical Center in Coatesville, PA. The Tractor Operator is an integral part of the Grounds Maintenance Section of the Facilities Engineering Service.

Duties

Operates motorized equipment such as automobiles, trucks, trailers and power mowers. Maintains turf areas using specialized equipment, mowing areas such as facility grounds. Operates tractors, skid loaders, drive-around leaf blowers, leaf vacuum tractor and trailer, lawn mowers, street sweeper. Works outside on rough terrain in all kinds of weather and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/27/2023. EXPERIENCE: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but you must show evidence of training or experience of sufficient scope and quality of your ability to do the work of this position. SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Physical Requirements: The incumbent exerts constant heavy physical effort in doing such tasks as frequently operating tractor controls and moving objects weighing up to 100 pounds and occasionally other hand pushed equipment on grades or pushing heavy wheelbarrow loads of dirt, etc. Working Conditions: At this level the incumbent works outside on rough terrain in all kinds of weather and inside in areas that may be dusty, drafty, and noisy. The equipment, tools and tasks involved at the level frequently require special care to avoid serious injury such as from overturning of the equipment.
