This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Assistant Commandant for Engineering and Logistics (CG-4), Office of Logistics (CG-44), Configuration Management Division (CG-444), Washington D.C.
Duties
You will serve as Logistics Management Specialist, providing advice and guidance on current and projected logistics transformation initiatives related to deployment policies. You will also provide advice and guidance on current and projected Integrated Logistics Support program initiatives related to defining operational and sustainment support requirements, as well as providing oversight across the Coast Guard (CG) enterprise. Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
GS-13: Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes: Developing logistics related procedures and guidance documents; developing resource requirements to support acquisition projects; management of cost, schedule and performance for the delivery of integrated logistics support products; tracking and managing logistics contract deliverable items; identifying gaps in logistics support for new or modified asset systems.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
