About the position: This is a Flexible position located at the Bowling Center on Joint Base Langley-Eustis VA - Ft Eustis location. Position has no guaranteed hours. This position may be subject to holidays, nights, weekends and on-call work. This position requires serving of Alcoholic Beverages; therefore, applicants must be 21 years of age.

Duties

Collects sales slips, total sales on cash register, accepts payment from patrons and makes change as necessary. Maintains related cash records. Keeps work area clean and orderly. Sets up food· service counters and steam tables with hot and cold foods and beverages. Prepares coffee and hot water for tea, fills beverage dispensers with juices and soft drinks. Sets tables, seats guests, records guests' selections and turns in orders to the kitchen: Serves food, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. Presents bill and receives payment. Cleans tables and immediate area. Prepares fruits and vegetables for cooking and serving. Makes a variety of fruit and vegetable salads. Portions out food, cleans and prepares· meats and seafood for cooking. Checks food during cooking to prevent overcooking. Prepares sandwiches and box lunches. Washes dishes, pots and pans. Empties trash and cleans and sanitizes containers. Unloads trucks and places contents in proper storage and use areas, brings supplies to work areas. Clean floors, walls and windows in kitchen, dining and storage areas. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

• This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
• This position requires the incumbent to complete assigned training, to include Food Handlers certification, within specified time from date hire or assignment to position.
• This position requires applicant of be 21 years of age to mix and sell alcoholic beverages.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must meet state/local age requirements for the serving of alcoholic beverage at the time of appointment. Be able to lift and carry weights up to 20 pounds. Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory. Skill in mixing and serving alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages. NOTE: This is a mixed job, designed specifically for smaller NAF activities that require flexibility in employee work assignments. Employees assigned to this position perform all of the assigned duties on a regular and continuing basis.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
