You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT) of NAVY SYSTEMS MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY. This position is in the excepted service and does not confer competitive status.

Duties

You will serve as the Data Engineer within the Engineering Division. You will serve as the project leader and senior technical advisor responsible for devising, implementing, and overseeing the data management plan for various Information Technology (IT) services. You will perform project manager duties over assigned areas of responsibility. You will develop, update, and improve project management tools, templates, processes, and methodologies for the Engineering Division. You will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and surfacing applicable data on the Enterprise network. You will plan, develop, implement, and provide administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data. You will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serving as the technical authority to customers in the development and application of assigned IT functions and techniques necessary for computer utilization in accordance with current policy/regulations. 2) Conducting hands-on testing of products in a controlled environment and applying the results to a production information system. 3) Designing, normalizing, developing, installing and implementing databases. 4) Working through project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, control and close projects. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
