This position is located in the Cyber Analysis Division (IN-48) within the Cyber Intelligence Directorate (IN-40) and is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing a team of all-source intelligence research specialists, who are expected to communicate threat assessments to a diverse set of policy, intelligence, and commercial stakeholders.
Duties
This is an Excepted Service position. This appointment will not confer Competitive Service career-conditional or career tenure status. This means that if you are selected, you would have to compete with other applicants in open competition to meet requirements for another Federal position, unless you meet the requirements for reinstatement. Applicants who voluntarily convert from the competitive service, Senior Executive Service, or other pay systems to a non-time limited appointment under this excepted service authority are not afforded "fallback rights" to the pay system previously assigned prior to conversion.
At the full performance level GS-14, Supervisory Intelligence Research Specialist, you will:
Formulate and provide recommendations to comprehensive, strategic finished intelligence products on the foreign cyber threat to Department of Energy (DOE) and the U.S. Energy Sector for a diverse set of customers.
Oversee utilization of all-source intelligence sources and methods to maintain understanding of advanced cyber threat tactics, techniques, and procedures.
Collaborate with key government partners and stakeholders to convey expectations, identify gaps, anticipate needs, and propose recommendations.
Set and adjust short-term priorities and plan work and goals to be accomplished by subordinates.
Requirements

- May be required to successfully complete a 1-year supervisory probationary period.
- Must obtain and maintain a current "Q" security clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- Must successfully complete an initial CI evaluation and on a recurring basis, which may include a CI-scope polygraph examination.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing.

For the GS-14 position, experience must be at least equivalent to the GS-13 level:
Assisting with reviews or edits to finished intelligence products as it relates to foreign cyber threats.
Recommending new tools, processes or technologies to improve the effectiveness of cyber mission activities.
Collaborating with senior policymakers to convey ideas, facts, or conclusions concerning foreign cyber threats or issues.
Assisting with the development of policies or procedures to evaluate, discuss, or validate data to resolve cyber issues.
