Duties
This position is assigned as a Utility System Repairer-Operator of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This position performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of historic and non-historic structures throughout the park.
Class A certification is required in both Water Treatment and Wastewater Treatment. Operator in Training (OIT) for Wastewater and Water from Ohio EPA is acceptable. Employee will be required to obtain State of Ohio Class A certification in both wastewater and water within the first 12 months of duty.
This position will work the weekend shift.
Incumbent will be responsible for the following duties, to include but limited to monitoring EPA permits on wastewater and drinking water systems, making repairs to electrical systems, sewage pumps, chlorinators, softeners, controllers, storm water systems and HVAC repairs. Employee will work very closely with existing USO personal, Plumber, Electrician, and other trades.
Employee provides significant input to supervisor on performance and training needs for employees. Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed, and tools and equipment are used properly. The employee oversees all building and utilities work including planning projects, general upkeep and ordering supplies and materials. Assists Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor in planning and estimating time and material for projects. Employee is required to maintain up to date knowledge of lift stations, electrical, plumbing, water treatment and wastewater treatment. Assist in planning and implementing the job safety program for the building and utilities unit and the park. Employee will work in the field with the employees that they lead. Will serve as Project Inspector on construction contracts. Employee will use basic computer skills daily, such as Word Processing; Internet based communication and training; and Internet based Facility Management i.e., the Facility Management Software System (FMSS). Employee will perform FMSS data collection and input.
