This position is part of the Office of Environmental Management - Savannah River Operations Office, Department of Energy. As a Information Technology Specialist, you will be responsible for the guidance, implementation, management, and oversight of the Office of Environmental Management (EM) DOE-SR Capital Planning and Investment Control (CPIC) program.

Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT: For all positions, individuals must demonstrate they have experience in each of the four competencies listed below; the experience does not have to be IT-related. In addition to meeting the "Basic Requirements", you must also meet the "Specialized Experience Requirements" described below. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting ALL of the following: Maintaining and enhancing information management and technology programs to provide system tools and analytical capabilities; AND Supporting information security activities, policies, and programs for the security of various operating systems; AND Making recommendations to senior management on ways to maximize and improve utilization of funds that impact program objectives or missions. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration.
