About the Position: Fort Shafter, HI is the headquarters of the United States Army Pacific. Located in Honolulu, next to Tripler Army Medical Center, Fort Shafter is home to U.S. Army Pacific and Pacific Ocean Division, Army Corps of Engineers. This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 3 years. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years and cannot be made Permanent..
Duties
Ensures community relations engagements are programmed and sensitive to geographic distribution equity and long-range public affairs goals.
Conducts briefings on the history, function and operations of Installation.
Writes speeches and talking points for members of the command.
Accountable for overall implementation, execution and sustainment of the program.
Reviews presentations and speeches and obtains legal, operational security and other clearances.
Develops and implements the social media and public website program.
Primary photographer/videographer for the organization.
Responsible for maintaining Managements social media posts and/or assessing their social media sites.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Must be able to perform up to 5% of temporary duty (TDY) travel.

Experience Required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as developing and coordinating public affairs programs; developing proactive strategies to minimize adverse publicity; and website management, development, and design. Providing proper level of courtesies and decorum for distinguished visitors in order to plan, coordinate and conduct official and social events.
