Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to CBP management. This position starts at a salary of $57,118.00 (GS-09, Step 1) to $74,250.00 (GS-09, Step 10) with promotion potential to $74,250.00 (GS-9 Step 10). As a Mission Support Specialist (Logistics), your duties will include: Assisting with conducting inventories, records management, and preparing/processing of various property reports. Assisting in researching suppliers and working with requesters to procure goods/services. Ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles. Assisting with the fleet card program to include performing audits, extracting reports, and reconciling invoices, as well as supporting the processing of damaged vehicles and the scheduling of repairs. Providing support processing damaged vehicles and scheduling repairs. Arranging for deliveries from sector and local repair/service and arranging shuttle vehicles to and from local garages for scheduled service in accordance with agency guidelines and supervisor guidance.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-09 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Creating, accepting, modifying, and transferring of personal property records; Conducting inventories and records management and preparing various property reports; Conducting various duties within the agency's fleet management program to include ordering, receiving, inventorying, transferring, and excessing fleet vehicles; Arranging for delivery of tires/oil/filters from sector and local repair/service and arranging shuttles to/from local garages for scheduled services; Coordinating facilitates repairs and ensuring facility repairs requests are recorded into the facilities management system. NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible. Please see the "Required Documents" section below for additional resume requirements. Education Substitution: You may substitute a Master's degree or 2 full years of graduate education or a J.D or L.L.B. degree for experience required at the GS-9 grade level. Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours. Combining Education and Experience: To combine your education and experience, you must convert each to a percentage, and then add the percentages. The combined total of your percentage of education and experience must equal at least 100% in order to qualify. Note, only graduate education in excess of two full years may be used to qualify. If your education is currently described in quarter hours, convert the quarter hours into semester hours by multiplying the quarter hours by the fraction 2/3. To calculate your percentage of graduate education, divide the number of graduate semester hours by 18. To determine your percentage of qualifying experience, you must divide your total number of months of qualifying experience by the required number of months of experience. Add your percentages of education and experience. The two percentages must total at least 100%. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process by 10/16/2023.
