This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Human Resources Division (HR), Research and Analysis Section (HRN)
This position primary purpose is to provide leadership, strategic perspective, and guidance, in addition to great customer service, to support the DEA in meeting its goals by leveraging its most valuable resource-its PEOPLE.

As a Personnel Psychologist your typical work assignments may include:
Performing statistical analysis and interpretive studies based on data collected from applicants, employees and managers.
Employing techniques based on professionally sound psychological principles, theory, methods and practices.
Using data to prepare statistical studies.
Conducting analysis of qualitative data identifying key themes and using qualitative data software such as NVivo equivalent.
Providing program and policy information and guidance to executives, managers, and employees. Interacts, negotiates and obtains commitment for procedures and practices that enhance the quality, fairness and validity of HR programs.

Qualifications
The Psychology Series, 0180, has an Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) which must be met for this position in addition to the minimum qualification requirement.
BASIC REQUIREMENT: Master's or higher degree with a major in a non-Clinical Psychology/non-Counseling Psychology specialty.
AND
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: You may qualify at the GS-14 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrates ability in: 1) Demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of Industrial/Organizational Personnel Psychology; 2) Independently conducting comprehensive statistical analysis studies; 3) Developing measurement concepts and tools including written tests, methods for measuring and evaluating performance and employee attitudes; 4) Independently designing and conducting psychological studies; 5) Evaluating and validating personnel assessments in recruitment, selection, and/or retention or employees, and in employee training and development, performance evaluation, job analysis or directives; and, 6) Providing advice and guidance consultative services.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
