Serves as first level manager to assigned workforce consisting of engineering technicians and support personnel. Reports to the Manager, Communications Engineering Group within Engineering Services.

Duties

Directs the work of subordinate employees for more than one organizational unit level. Work usually includes a mix of routine and complex project/program tasks based on established Technical Operations policies, procedures, and guidelines. Managerial duties affect employees in more than one organizational unit and include setting priorities, assigning tasks, monitoring and evaluating performance, coaching and developing employee capabilities, approving leave, and taking or recommending corrective/disciplinary action as appropriate.

Requirements

• US Citizenship is required.
• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
• Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
• Some, all, or none of the candidates may be interviewed.
• A one-year supervisory probationary period is required.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-J level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least 52 weeks (one year) of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I/GS-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is: Experience which demonstrates an extensive knowledge of Operational Risk Management (ORM) and implementing installation projects in the National Airspace System (NAS).
