This position is located in Field Operations Directorate, Office of Field Operations, District 23, West Palm Beach FL Field Office.
As a Supervisory Immigration Services Assistant (SISA), you will provide technical and administrative support to subordinate staff to ensure compliance with USCIS procedures, policies and regulations.
Duties
The responsibilities described are for the full performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope performed with less independence, and limited complexity.
Supervise the day-to-day operations of a clerical support team in immigration records, adjudication, and mail operations for a USCIS field office.
Provides administrative, technical supervision of clerical support in customer service, records and mail management, FOSS contract services if applicable, and adjudication, enforcement case processing in a field office.
Provide facility management support to ensure the staff are adhering to safety regulations and mail distribution requirements.
Support various work units to ensure those units adhere to local and agency guidelines on case file staging for active, inactive, and closed cases to ensure cycle movements of files.
Monitor and adjust daily work of subordinates to meet uncontrolled priorities and requirements from the field office and with other neighboring DHS components.
Coordinate with other field supervisors and district specialist/managers to establish field goals, priorities and to assist in formulating long-term plans.
Qualifications
This position is with the United States Citizenship and Immigrations Services, West Palm Beach Field Office, located in sunny West Palm Beach, FL. The West Palm Beach Field Office is part of the S23 Tampa District in Florida. The other field offices within S23 are Tampa, Fort Myers, Jacksonville, and Orlando. West Palm Beach is in Palm Beach County on the east side of the state, north of Miami. It is a great place to live, thanks to its excellent weather, beach access, incredible restaurants, and more. This is not a remote position; you will be reporting to the office located in West Palm Beach
The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/19/2023.
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 10/19/2023.
GS-10: You qualify at the GS-10 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Handling sensitive and/or personally identifiable information for office file movements.
Maintaining data information in management systems functioning in the areas of either file management, case resolution, appointment scheduling, data processing or workflow management to support processing and/or tracking time sensitive case files.
Preparing reports or updating documents for information sharing within a team or office.
Securely processing incoming and outgoing mail.
GS-11: In addition to the requirements at the lower grade level(s), you qualify at the GS-10 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-10 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have experience performing the following duties:
Resolving clerical support issues in the areas of immigration records or adjudication processing by investigating data for correction in immigration management systems.
Applying knowledge of Agency polices and/or standards to make decisions for a clerical support team.
