You will serve as an EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the Installation Protection/ Installation Protection Branch, Director S 7 of MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII.

Duties

You will serve as the Installation Emergency Planner to manage the Emergency Management Program by preparing, carry out or coordinating emergency functions to prevent, protect, mitigate, prepare, respond, and recover from emergencies and disasters. You will develop and implement emergency management standards, risk management processes, regulations, practices, training, and procedures to identify, minimize or eliminate hazards and threats. You will analyze established emergency procedures to confirm community and public awareness is incorporated into plans, preparations, and training. You will incorporate all hazards exercises (e.g., in-place shelter program, natural phenomena emergencies, deliberate attacks, emergency dispatch systems) into organization plans, procedures, and directives. You will analyze new or improved nuclear emergency planning processes, equipment, and techniques for implementation to advance radiological emergency procedures. You will resolve critical emergency management situations that affect organization wide operations. You will brief management on findings, recommendations, or issues associated with emergency management training, exercises, and events. You will compose technical papers and briefings to provide the status of emergency program initiatives to senior leaders.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing the planning, coordination, and execution of all-hazards training and exercise programs in support of the Emergency Management, Chemical Biological Radio-logical and High Yield Explosives (CBRNE) and Installation Protection related programs.
