The primary purpose of this position is: To receive, inspect, sanitize, and repair as required, properly store and issue respirators, blasting helmets, welding helmets, (3M full face, MSA, NOVA 2000, bullard) to authorized individuals from multiple organizations.
Duties
Performs proper inspections and repair on the respirators or blasting helmets (3M full face, MSA, Nova 2000, Bullard) to ensure the units meet OSHA guidelines.
Ensures all units and components being turned in or new units being issued are properly cleaned and sterilized.
Maintains proper storage of equipment (3M full face, MSA, Nova 2000, Bullard) and strict inventory.
Tool Control.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-4800 General Equipment Maintenance Family.. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

Working Conditions:
Work is usually performed in areas that are adequately lighted, ventilated, and heated. Frequently exposed to loud noise from the cleaning/sanitizing materials not normally considered harmful. May require some use of protective clothing and other types of PPE. The work requires moderate to strenuous effort. Must lift, reach, bend, walk, pull, push, sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Required to reach and work in awkward or cramped positions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
