The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Lead Test Engineer on major systems/subsystems development within the Medium Altitude UAS Division portfolio.
Duties
Applies knowledge of the principles, methods, & techniques of T&E.
Provides oversight and engineering support for developing test strategy documents, test plans and test reports, test discrepancy documentation and resolution.
Provides technical evaluations for test readiness reviews, technical & safety review boards.
Contributes to AFLCMC/WII's Digital Transformation efforts, initiating/maturing/pursuing model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and other Digital Engineering methods as applied to Test and Evaluation.
Participates in planning conferences, prepares management reports, and conducts technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective action.

In this positionyou willserve as the Lead Test Engineer on major systems/subsystems development within the Medium Altitude UAS Division portfolio. You will be responsible for systems engineering activities for the design, development, production, test, and support of assigned systems. You will represent the organization by engaging with functional counterparts, HQ AFMC, DoD, other federal agencies, industry and Foreign Military Sales partners and academia. You will oversee the production, testing and on-time delivery of MQ-9 systems to the warfighter, all while ensuring airworthiness and Operational Safety, Suitability and Effectiveness (OSS&E) requirements are met.
As the lead test engineer, this position will perform the Test & Evaluation (T&E) activities executed by AFLCMC Detachment 3 to meet performance requirements, as well as providing engineering support for planning, conduct, and reporting of test and evaluation projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials, and equipment to effectively apply advanced multidisciplinary engineering theories and concepts to test and evaluation activities and advisory services.
Knowledge of advanced system/item development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and/or new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of test activities.
Knowledge of the principles of system engineering and program management to ensure system requirements, interfaces, capabilities, and program factors are considered in planning, monitoring, and reviewing tests and test results.
Knowledge of security guidelines, safety issues, and relevant government and industry standards, regulations, practices, and procedures.
Skill in negotiating and/or defending test results, test program concepts, and in communicating clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing.
Ability to execute projects and/or studies within established financial and/or time constraints; to gather, assemble, analyze facts, form conclusions, devise and recommend solutions to problems; and work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
