This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Southwest Region, Branch of Human Services, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Incumbent provides services and assistance in areas of Individual Indian Monies (IIM) matters.

NOTE: TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.
Duties
Provides Regional level guidance and technical assistance on 25 CFR Parts 20 and 115, to include policy related to Individual Indian Monies (IIM) accounts and Human Services programs.
Performs direct and on-going case management for protective services for adults and children.
Provides technical assistance to agencies and tribes on all facets of IIM such as preparing social service assessments, evaluations of need, letters, major purchase requests, and distribution plans.
Promotes positive working relations with agencies, tribes, and external stakeholders by responding to requests for assistance in a timely manner.
Arranges for meetings and resolves challenging inquiries in a professional and ethical manner.
Interprets broad policies and regulations for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinates and schedules annual program reviews.
Prepares exit reports and develops corresponding corrective action plans.
Plans and hosts conference calls and training sessions with an emphasis on IIM activities, policies, and guidelines.
Coordinates and collects statistical data for reference and use in response to human service data calls.

Qualifications
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: (OPM Operating Manual, Qualification Standards for Professional and Scientific Positions and Individual Occupational Requirements for GS-0185: Social Work Series).
BASIC REQUIREMENT FOR ALL GRADES:
Degree: Social Work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for a MASTER'S DEGREE in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: In addition to meeting the basic qualification requirement, applicants must have the following:
GS-12: Qualifying is one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience includes work involving applying practical knowledge in a wide range of social services casework, family therapy, community organization; direct provision of child welfare services; maintaining active agency participation in advocacy and intervention programs and the coordination of and required cooperation with allied social service, health and other agencies; providing counseling services; maintaining a formalized case management system which documents the workflow of services with individual case plans; providing technical assistance on all aspects of social services programs and activities; assisting in developing budgets; assisting IIM account holders in the utilization of funds; training staff in areas of IIM policies, procedures, and guidelines.

One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must send a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript in order to receive credit for that education which shows the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
