The primary purpose is to serve as a Systems Engineer for a weapon system(s) in assignments concerning electrical/mechanical systems and subsystems of aircraft, as well as the electrical/mechanical mechanisms and/or components of related subsystems.
Duties
Responsible for systems engineering activities required for the assigned mission and/or the design, development, production, test, and support of assigned systems.
Evaluates contractors' technical proposals. Assembles and integrates the technical portions of Requests for Proposals and system plans, utilizing inputs from other engineering specialists.
Represents his/her organization by engaging with other organizations, including functional counterparts, HQ AFMC, DoD, other federal agencies, industry partners and academia.
Coordinate assessment activity between weapon system experts and technology area experts to identify design risks with new weapon systems
Develop plans to assess weapon system designs within AF policy and guidance

In this position,you willserve as Airworthiness Systems Engineer and support the design, development, integration, production, and procurement of cutting-edge technology. The individual selected for this position will support execution of USAF Airworthiness Process by providing engineering expertise and guidance in the planning and accomplishment of technical assessments. The individual in this position will provide systems development and integration engineering expertise and guidance in accomplishing and supporting the technical aspects of risk and issue management. These risk areas include design, integration, technology maturity, cost, schedule, airworthiness, and safety.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Professional engineering knowledge gained through attainment of a Bachelor's degree in on of the engineering disciplines or equivalent is required. Advanced degree such as Masters or PhD are preferred.
In-depth, expert knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, methods, and techniques of aircrew and maintenance training systems acquisition and development.
Broad knowledge of weapons systems operational procedures, techniques, climatic and environmental factors that impact training system performance.
Knowledge of related engineering disciplines such as systems engineering, controls and displays, on-board computer systems, software development and distribution processing.
Knowledge of regulations, policies, and operating instructions, and procedures as they pertain to the preparation of technical documents, technical source selections, statements of work, and design and test standardization.
A working knowledge of capabilities of computer systems and how they may be effectively employed to assist required analytical efforts.
