This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA Certain Personnel Workforce for DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This Construction Control Representative position with the Omaha District Construction Division, U.S Army Corps of Engineers.
Duties
Incumbent participates in design review conferences with Project Manager, Area Engineer, Resident Engineer, and design engineers/architects and discusses construction aspects of the design and foreseeable problems.
Work performance requires the application of a comprehensive knowledge of engineering methods, techniques, disciplines, and construction methods.
Projects constitute a major portion of the total construction activity, or several smaller projects within a geographical area.
These contracts and projects are varied and may include all types of Military Construction (e.g., buildings, site work, utilities, base infrastructure), Environmental Construction or Civil Construction.
Observes and investigates construction at all stages to identify conflicts and/or problems, and takes timely corrective action.
Fills in for other Construction Representatives during times of critical need.
Advises the Resident Engineer in organizing, assigning, and controlling work of inspectors and technicians of the Resident Office.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as: 1.) Monitoring construction quality such as adherence to approved production schedule or proper installation of material components; AND 2.) Analyzing various phases of construction to ensure compliance with contract specifications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
