This position is located at Departmental Offices, Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an IT Specialist (PLCYPLN) (INFOSEC), you will manage the security operations and development of assigned Enterprise Business Solutions' systems, especially: compliance with Treasury's security program, monitoring and improvement of its security posture, and advising of key stakeholders of risks and tracking remediation.
Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-14. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
Lead the analysis, reporting, and remediation (plan of action and milestones) of security incidents, threat assessments, and findings from audits, testing, and other sources to the assigned infrastructure and systems managed by Enterprise Business Solutions and OCIO.
Ensure the consistency in program outcomes, adequacy, and success of the programs within Enterprise Business Solutions.
Identify need for system changes based on new security technologies or threats; review proposed new systems, networks, and software designs for potential security risks; and develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
Conduct system security evaluations, audits, and reviews; participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.
Provide expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on compliance with Treasury's security program, monitoring, and improvement of its security posture.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience analyzing, reporting, and remediating (plan of action and milestones) of security incidents, threat assessments, findings from audits, testing, and other sources.; AND
Experience ensuring compliance with systems security policies, evaluations, audits, and reviews.; AND
Experience addressing system changes based on new technology and planning long term strategies to achieve IT security goals and program success.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-13 you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Experience analyzing, reporting, and remediating (plan of action and milestones) of security incidents, threat assessments, and findings from audits, testing, and other sources.; AND
Experience conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews.; AND
Experience addressing issues, impediments, and obstacles to achieving IT security goals and program success.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
