This vacancy is for a Program Manager position in the Department of Commerce, Decennial Communications Coordination Office located at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

Duties
Direct and develop plans for the communication and liaison work of major partnership and outreach activities.
Oversee the development and dissemination of various communication, partnership, and outreach materials for internal and external stakeholders.
Manage and provide guidance to staff on issues related to communications, partnership, and outreach.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes: coordinating project requirements, schedules, and implementation; providing technical leadership to guide programs; managing work to keep on schedule, within budget, and according to the standards of the Census Bureau; advising senior management in developing material to respond to data calls and inquiries; and leading a team or reviewing the work of others.
Education cannot be substituted for experience.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer.
