This position is located in Reconstruction Era National Historical Park, in the Division of Interpretation.

Duties
As an Educational Technician, you will perform the following duties:
Presents in-park, offsite, and virtual curriculum-based education programs for kindergarten through high school students following established themes, learning objectives, curriculum requirements, and guidelines and utilizing teaching methods appropriate to each grade level.
Collaborates and communicates with partners and educators.
Works directly with teachers, schools, non-profit groups, and other organizations to schedule, deliver, and enhance educational programs.
Assists with planning and presentation of training workshops for elementary and secondary teachers, other non-formal educators, and park staff; prepares and leads sessions at workshops.
Develops and presents learning activities that encourage critical thinking and problem-solving and connect students with the park resources.
Monitors and evaluates the education programs and materials, including recording program data, and offers recommendations for modifications, improvements, or updates.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-10/15/2023-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: assisting in the development of curriculum-based educational programs; working with students in a classroom or informal educational setting; and monitoring educational programs and materials. This type of experience could have been obtained while working as a park ranger, teacher, teacher's aide, tour leader, camp counselor, or other similar work.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current surplus and current or former displaced Federal individuals who have special priority selection rights under the Agency Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP) or the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP) must be well qualified for the position to receive consideration for special priority selection.
