Duties
You will secure crime scenes for evidence collection.
You will perform contingency actions in response to incidents, emergencies, and hostile actions (e.g., active shooter, hazardous materials spill, bomb threat).
You will distribute and balance workload and rotations among police officers.
You will administer anti-terrorism, force protection, physical security, and law enforcement services for the protection of life and property.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully pass an initial, annual, or any required OPM, DOD, or DON mental and emotional stability screening, physical agility test, and physical fitness for duty test.
- You must complete a DOD approved Police Training Academy or equivalent course, a federal or military police academy, or equivalent law enforcement training.
- You must also complete annual sustainment training, Level 1 Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) contamination training, and OC refresher training.
- You must meet OPM hearing and vision requirements to include distinguishing basic shades of color.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing law enforcement (LE), physical security (PS), antiterrorism (AT), and force protection (FP) functions; 2) Deploying specialized or advanced techniques, equipment, knowledge, or training; 3) Conducting preliminary and/or ongoing investigations of incidents; 4) Documenting law enforcement and security events and the issuance of citations; and 5) Distributing workload to junior officers in accordance with priority and skill level. Employee is required to wear an assigned uniform and display official designated items or accessories to include additional required equipment. The employee must follow and adhere to applicable grooming standards for the installation.
Employee must be trained and qualified to conduct Guardmount and pre/post watch training of other law enforcement personnel before, during, and after the assigned shift.
You may be required to respond to other military installations within the region or off installation events when directed by higher authority to a disaster scene or during a national emergency.
You will be required to be CPR certified and utilize a portable heart defibrillator where available.
