The mission of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration's (TIGTA) Office of Investigations is to protect the Internal Revenue Service from internal and external threats and corruption that could negatively impact the IRS' ability to administer the nation's tax laws. We detect and deter waste, fraud and abuse in IRS programs and operations and protect the IRS against internal misconduct and corruption as well as external attempts to corrupt or threaten its employees.

Duties

As a Supervisory Program Manager (Forensic Science Director), you will: Plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, review, and evaluate the agency-wide forensic science laboratory program for the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration Forensic and Digital Science Laboratory (FDSL). Supervise a professional staff of forensic examiners and support personnel responsible for the complex, scientific evaluation of physical evidence submitted by Special Agents conducting criminal investigations and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employee conduct cases nationwide. Be responsible for the laboratory's sufficiency of operations, proficiency testing and accreditation, and may be required to provide records and/or testimony regarding these areas.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: - Developing forensic evidence and supporting cases from analysis to establish facts or evidence; AND - Controlling, leading and prioritizing work for others; AND - Experience in at least one of the forensic disciplines within the laboratory: Questioned Documents, Latent Prints, or Multi-media. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
