You will serve as a ADMINISTRATIVE SPECIALIST in the CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS of NAVWARSYSCEN ATLANTIC CHARLESTON SC.. The salary range includes 16.50% locality pay established for the Charleston, SC geographic location. The salary range includes 17.94% locality pay established for the Norfolk, VA geographic location.

Duties

You will oversee the primary internal or external communication functions for NIWC Atlantic, to include the respective associated platforms (Weekly Summary email, Daily News, Social Media, External Website). You will oversee the dissemination of electronic and print informational products throughout the organization (internally and externally). You will provide respective Command Information and External Engagement teams with training, mentoring, and guidance, under the direction of the NIWC Atlantic Public Affairs Director. You will be responsible for final internal and/or external drafts of communication products for NIWC Atlantic’s Command Officer and Executive Director. You will demonstrate proficiency in the Public Affairs, Visual Information and Protocol arena and articulate the technical aspects of the various engineering programs and projects. You will apply knowledge of DoD and DoN public affairs and visual information doctrine, principles, practices and ethics.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for leadership support and execution for Public Affairs duties to include: Media Engagement, Visual Information, Congressional Liaison, Internal Information, Community Outreach, and Protocol for the command. .
