About the Position: This position is located at the First United States Army, HQ 157th Infantry Brigade, S-8 Section, located at Camp Atterbury, Indiana.
Duties
Plan, coordinate, and may develop basic procedures and policies for the implementation of the Brigade's decentralized program budget system.
Analyze program manager budget submissions, conduct independent budget analyses, and provide managers with advice and training as necessary.
Serve as an advisor to staff and subordinate unit commanders on program-related areas.
Provide technical and/or administrative guidance, assistance, and instruction to lower-graded military and/or civilian staff assigned to assist in carrying out budgetary functions.
Perform resource management functions associated with planning, management, execution, administration, control, and analysis of resource requirements for a variety of elements of the Command.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain a Financial Management Level 2 Certification.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Analyzes program budget submissions and provides advice; exercises daily resource management through accounting, budgeting, and management-financial reporting programs; interprets and implements accounting standards and policies; provides technical and/or administrative guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business, business management, mathematics, public administration, financial management, and accounting/auditor.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
