About the Position:Serves as Staff Action Control Officer (SACO) in the Secretary of the General Staff office to the Command Group Offices: Chief of Staff, Deputy to the Commander and the Commanding General (CG), TACOM.
This is a permanent, full-time position.
Duties
Review and analyze staff actions and decision correspondence.
Establish priority of actions based on the sensitivity of the subject matter, suspense dates, and other pertinent data.
Perform research for others involving comprehensive searches for pertinent information, from records and files, other organizational segments and outside the organization.
Review actions for conformance with guidance, thoroughness, content, security markings and to ensure that issues are properly answered.
Enhance command group effectiveness by expediting correspondence and improving communications.
Plan and manage a system to coordinate command group taskings to monitor the response of designated Command elements.
Staff and track internal and external correspondence with designated function and support areas of the command.
Analyze information and data and assesses progress of programs, projects, and processes.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret (Tier 3) Clearance.

Specialized Experience for Staff Action Control Officer, GS-12 position: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, such as: coordinating taskers that cross multiple command organizations and partner organizations; developing internal instructions/operating guidance detailing procedures for tasker completion, prioritization, and timely action; and monitoring assigned suspenses/actions to ascertain the degree of priority and facilitate timely action.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
