You will serve as a AIRFIELD CLEARING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in the Airfield Service Branch of MARINE CORPS AIR FACILITY QUANTICO.
Duties
You will operate one or more types of gasoline or diesel powered special purpose airfield clearing equipment.
You will comply with safe driving rules when driving and maneuvering vehicles in all conditions.
You will maneuver vehicles around parked aircraft and back vehicles close to aircraft.
You will maintain continuous communication with Air Traffic Control Tower during airfield sweeping events.
You will utilize safe work practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clear work environment.
You will use and assure proper fit of required safety equipment and clothing.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license and qualify for a government license for vehicles up to 12,000 lbs.
- You will be required to possess and maintain a 10k Forklift Operator's license and a grader's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You will be required to lift/carry items up to 50lbs.
- You will be required to be well versed in radios to communicate with a variety of controlling agencies aboard the air facility.
- You will be required to possess the ability to read and understand the English language.
- You will be required to be familiar with aircraft signaling through hand and arm signals.
- You will be required to be familiar with the use of 6ft snow plow attachments for vehicles.
Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including maneuvering and backing a variety of vehicles/equipment around parked aircrafts and close to parked vehicles to avoid damage to aircraft, equipment, or surrounding area.
