This position is located in the division of Behavioral Health Division, Blackfeet Service Unit, Browning, MT. The purpose of this position is to provide a variety of administrative tasks associated with maintaining and supporting the work performed within the organization, and provide support to nursing, supervisors, and administrators of the Blackfeet Service Unit.
Duties
Serves as the receptionist for the department by courteously receiving all incoming telephone calls. Prioritize and respond appropriately, using judgment and taking action as indicated including record information, provide information, notify staff, and direct to the proper destination. Maintains log of all aforementioned actions.
Screen request for services and direct patient to the appropriate provider / resource for services. Assist Behavior Health staff in contacting patients through written (initial and reminder appointment letters, etc.) and phone communication reminders of scheduled appointments.
Interview all patients and appropriately enter all demographic information for the purpose of maintaining current patient registration information before checking them into their scheduled appointment. Provide mental health screening instruments to patients for completion before commencement of their scheduled appointment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-04: One (1) year of General Experience and/or 2 years of education above high school.
GS-05: One (1) year of Specialized Experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level and/or 4 years of education above high school.
Examples of Specialized Experience:
GS-05: Examples include: Conduct administrative processes such as creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; maintain manual and electronic calendars to add, delete or change meetings; service as a receptionist or point-of-contact for an office; maintain electronic and hard copy files; input data into an automated timekeeping system; input data into an electronic database for procurement of equipment and supplies.
General Experience --Progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
