Duties

Position is located at a Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) which consists of multiple institutions composed of various security levels.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following qualification requirements: Education: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience for this grade level. Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level in federal service. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Qualifying specialized experience must have involved preparing and serving food in mass quantities for large groups of people. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: Experience with planning, controlling, and evaluating department operations such as managing budget resources for anticipated and atypical expenses for the Food Service Department; establishing standards of sanitation, safety and security; developing menus and evaluating inmate acceptance of food quantity and quality. Experience in supervising and inspecting the inmate training activities carried out by subordinates; making suggestions on technique improvements and evaluating the adequacy of instructions. Experience with the coordination of all phases of food preparation to assure meals are properly prepared and served to include such remote areas as Health Services, Receiving and Discharge, and the Special Housing Units. Experience in a wide variety of duties which include several specialized programs and functions including medical and religious diets, ethnic food preparation, satellite operations, and warehousing operations; each of which requires some difference in approach, procedures, and techniques. If applicable, credit will be given for paid and unpaid experience. To receive proper credit, you must show the actual time (such as the number of hours worked per week) spent in activities. **Your eligibility for consideration will be based on your responses to the questions in the application.**
