A housing subsidy of up to $514.50 per pay period without dependents or $609 per pay period with dependents may be available.
This position is located in the Division of Clinical Services, Laboratory and X-Ray services. The incumbent in this position is responsible to serve as the federal lead and subject matter expert (SME) with cloud platforms, in support of agency programs and activities. The incumbent in this position reports to the Chief Laboratory Services.
Duties
Perform diagnostic support duties which include age specific patient assessment for the purpose of drawing blood specimens.
Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture.
provide laboratory clerical support tasks; answer telephone, direct calls, verify reference tests completed, files laboratory test slips, requisitions for workload capture.
Restock supplies, notify supervisor when supplies are low or needed, perform written verification when new supplies are received.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-6: 1 year equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade level.
GS-7: 1 year equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level.
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants who have the 1 year of appropriate specialized experience, as indicated in the table, are not required by this standard to have general experience, education above the high school level, or any additional specialized experience to meet the minimum qualification requirements.
NOTE: Graduate education or an internship meets the specialized experience required above GS-5 only in those instances where it is directly related to the work of the position. One full year of graduate education meets the requirements for GS-7.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
For positions at GS-4 and above: (a) Technical medical laboratory support work such as performing laboratory tests and examinations (chemical, microbiologic, hematologic and blood banking) and preparing reports of findings or (b) technical support work in a closely related field, e.g., biological laboratory technician work, that required application of the methods and techniques for the position to be filled.
Examples of Specialized Experience at the GS-6 level
Performing a variety of testing in areas including Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis; waived testing and microscopic examinations for bodily fluid under normal technical supervision; interpreting and following policy and procedures; performing phlebotomy services such as capillary draws, heels sticks, and venipunctures on infants, children and adults; performing quality control, evaluating quality control graphs, and identifying shifts, trends, and out-of-range quality control; organizing work from accessioning orders to matching computer order with specimen labels; sorting and processing specimens; operating and performing preventive maintenance and calibrations on analytical instruments in the areas of chemistry and hematology.
Examples of Specialized Experience at the GS-7 level
Performing quality control and calibration on analyzers; correlation studies, linearity studies, and operating analytical instruments (such as Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis analyzers); performing waived testing, microscopic examinations of different bodily fluids, and identifying cells; resolving errors and abnormal flags on patient results; and monitoring laboratory quality control graphs by recognizing shifts, trends, and out-of-range quality control.
