The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Unit Deployment Manager managing all organizational group/squadron deployment/mobility programs to ensure assigned personnel are qualified and ready to meet Air Expeditionary Force requirements, and to maintain AEF Reporting Tool, Status of Resource and Training System, and Deployment Readiness Reporting System.
Duties
Duty1: Serves as the organizational/group Unit Deployment Manager (UDM), holds overall responsibility for the unit deployment process, providing guidance to the organization.
Duty2: Manages all associated databases and products related to AEF reporting
Duty3: Ensures personnel readiness. Ensures the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training.
Duty4: Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding nit deployment program.

- The incumbent will be required to complete mandatory UDM training to include JDS/LOGMOD, AEF Reporting Tool, Status of Readiness Training System, Deployment Readiness Reporting System, and Pallet Build-Up/Hazardous Cargo Preparation
- Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft
- This position may be designated mission essential based on local conditions. Mission essential personnel report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions for this series in conjunction Miscellaneous Administration and Program Series 0301.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes managing deployment and mobility programs, ensuring personnel readiness, monitoring deployment eligibility, and maintain reporting systems.

OR
EDUCATION: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Only graduate education in excess of the amount required for the next lower grade level may be used to qualify applicants for positions at grade of GS-11. (When crediting education that requires specific course work, prorate the number of hours of related courses required as a proportion of the total education to be used.)

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
Note: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of methods, procedures, and skills in evaluating and performing deployment operations lo identify mid meet deployment requirements.
Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency deployment mobilization concepts, principles. practices, procedures, regulations, and laws applicable to the full range of UDM management responsibilities.
Knowledge of established safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations related to the safety program, risk assessment methods, and techniques for evaluating occupational safety and health risks.
Knowledge of federal planning policy and guidance to include publications applicable to the functional area,
Ability to identify, analyze, and translate complex information, make appropriate judgments, and evaluate options concerning unit readiness.
Ability to recognize the inter-relationships of various aspects of operating programs to integrate and analyze information to evaluate overall program status.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
