You will serve as a INSTRUCTIONAL SYSTEMS SPECIALIST in the EDUCATION & TRAINING, CURRICULUM MANAGEMENT of NAVMEDFORSUPCMD FT SAM.
Duties
You will research and gather data from a variety of established sources for development of new curriculum
You will develop training needs assessment and analysis plans to define instructional, learning, and performance-based objectives
You will conduct reviews of instructional program objectives and task learning responsibilities to assist in developing learning maps
You will communicate ideas and collaborate in professional group discussions to a wide variety of professional groups.
You will advise leadership of workforce development as a means to achieve strategic goals.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
*Experience implementing the use of a systematic model for the development of instruction.
*Experience in design and modifications, employing computer systems and software applications.
*Experience in design of instructional materials, and assisting faculty and subject matter experts to improve effectiveness and efficiency of courses.
*Experience directing and monitoring the development of distant learning course and instructional material. Experience in internal and external evaluation of courses.
*Experience in faculty educational activities, student education activities, and educational quality assurance.

Education
Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess:
A completed 4 year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the work of the position. My course work included study in at least four of the five following areas:
1) Learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology: Study of learning theories as they relate to the systematic design, development, and validation of instructional material.
2) Instructional design practices: Study of the principles and techniques used in designing training programs, developing design strategy and models, and applying design methods to the improvement of instructional effectiveness.
3) Educational evaluation: Study of the techniques for evaluating the effectiveness of instructional/educational programs, including developing written and performance tests and survey instruments, and determining reliability and validity of evaluation instruments.
4) Instructional product development: Study of the techniques appropriate for developing training materials, including identifying learner characteristics, specifying objectives, applying training strategy, validating training materials, and evaluating training.
5) Computers in education and training: Study of the application of computers in education and training, including selecting appropriate computer software.
