This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Acts as the lifecycle logistics officer and program planning subject matter expert for sustainment and acquisition for the Deputy Directorate Joint Training, Environment Architecture Operations Division (EOD). The incumbent is the lead subject matter expert for lifecycle management actions for sustainment, acquisition and program planning.
Duties
As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST at the GS-0346-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Plans, directs and coordinates all assigned programs to include lifecycle management, sustainment, technical and administrative program methodology, resource management and program management.
Recommends priorities of assigned program based on changing conditions or directives from higher echelons and effects necessary follow-ups with other project and Program Managers.
Serves as the Lifecycle Project Manager for specified IT products, projects, programs and has the cross-functional program management experience and knowledge of program requirements to include governance implementation.
Responsible for analysis and interpretation of assigned programs to ensure they meet acquisition standards and compliance with established metrics, quality improvement, and change management decisions from the enterprise perspective.
Develops and advises on the execution of an enterprise-level planning, which incorporates the key components of the DoD Information Technology procurement enterprise strategy and roadmap are consistent with DoD acquisition community best practices

- This is an acquisition position coded Foundational in Life Cycle Logistics. Must obtain mandatory Back-to-Basics (BtB) certification within 36 months of entry into position. Must acquire 80 Continuous Learning Points every 24 months.
Qualifications
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
Applies advanced lifecycle acquisition and sustainment principles, concepts, methods, standards, and practices to develop and interpret policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of services throughout the Joint Staff
Provides expert lifecycle advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical issues
Utilizes Program Planning Budget and Execution process to assist the technical development environments in projecting annual labor costs, with a focus on lifecycle logistics support and resources planning
Applies DoD Information Technology procurement enterprise strategies to develop and advise on the execution of an enterprise-level planning
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
