About the Position: This position is located in the Uniform Business Office (UBO), Directorate of Business Operations at the Womack Medical Center in Fort Liberty, NC. Incumbent is responsible for the billing, receipting, transferring, depositing, and accounting for the collection of cash received from numerous sources within the medical treatment facility (MTF). This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

Oversee the billing, receipting, transferring, depositing, and accounting for the collection of cash received from numerous sources. Establish and monitor various financial accounts within a medical treatment facility (MTF). Perform account reconciliation in a financial system such as, Automated Disbursing System (ADS) or General Fund Enterprises Business System (GFEBS). Process reimbursement requests as required by the individual transactions to determine eligibility and obtain copies of any required orders or authorizations. Process payments received from reimbursement requests in accordance with existing Standard Operating Procedures Interview patients for health insurance and Medicare information for entry into their medical record. Monitor, maintain, balance and reconcile ledger accounts and journal within an automated accounting system for the MTF. Maintain records on Third Party Collection Program (TPCP) accounts in compliance with regulations. Prepare monthly spreadsheets to reconcile deposits and financial reports.

• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a favorable result from a National Agency Background Check.
• This is a DOD Financial Management position. The incumbent must complete training and meet position requirements for certification at Level 1 within 2 years of appointment. Failure to obtain and maintain certification may result in adverse action.
• This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes maintaining automated ledgers and journals of services performed, cash received and cash dispersed; monitoring deposits for proper control and accountability of funds in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures; entering and extracting accounts data for reports as required; verifying medical treatment facility (MTF) reimbursements are billed, collected, transferred, and deposited for services rendered. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Accounting. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.
