About the Position: You will serve as Maintenance Control Technician at a major multipurpose water resource project that may include power generation, navigation locks, flood control, visitor centers, natural resources and recreation features, or other appurtenant elements at several locations.

Duties

Provide system control, oversight, repair history, analysis, data entry, and documentation of current and future maintenance operations. Organize and compile all pertinent information, assure accuracy, and enter data and updates for each piece of equipment into the maintenance system. Prepare Operations and Maintenance program reports for the Operations Manager and/or their staff. Utilize computerized maintenance management system to issue and schedule routine and cyclic maintenance, repair and replacement of all equipment and machinery. Responsible for accounting data and status changes on all work orders for work to be performed anywhere on the project. Upon completion of maintenance work, reviews feedback to verify work accomplished.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • May be selected at any grade level with non-competitive promotion potential to target grade. Non-competitive promotion potential to the target grade based on time-in-grade requirements and demonstrated ability to perform the higher graded duties.
  • This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
