The Whole Health Program empowers Veterans to integrate traditional medical intervention, complementary and integrative health approaches, personalized health planning and innovative self-care approaches into an individualized path to well-being. As the Whole Health Program Manager (WHPM), the incumbent is responsible for the management, monitoring, and quality improvement of all Whole Health operations across the facility, in concurrence with the Whole Health Clinical Director. The WHPM is a key contributor to Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center (RJDVAMC) strategic planning and implementation for the Whole Health system transformation. This responsibility includes both Main Campus as well as in Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The incumbent has primary responsibility for assessing the Whole Health needs of the entire organization, implementing and revising Whole Health policies and procedures, monitoring data-driven outcomes, as well as overseeing quality improvement activities and completing regular progress reports. The WHPM is responsible for timely completion of all Whole Health evaluations and reports required by the Medical Center, VISN 15, the Office of Patient Centered Care & Cultural Transformation, and VA Central Office. The incumbent will ensure compliance with appropriate accrediting/regulatory bodies such as the Joint Commission (JC) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Basic Requirements: United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Education. Have a master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master's degree in social work. Verification of the degree can be made by going to http://www.cswe.org/Accreditation to verify that the social work degree meets the accreditation standards for a masters of social work. Licensure. Persons hired or reassigned to social worker positions in the GS-0185 series in VHA must be licensed or certified by a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English to be appointed as authorized by 38 U.S.C. § 7403(f). Grade Determinations: To qualify for the GS 0185 12 Social Work Program Coordinator position you must meet the basic requirements listed above as well as: (1) Licensure: You must be licensed at the Advanced Practice level. (2) Experience: You must show that you have at least 1 year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 as a Social Worker. (3) Demonstrated Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA). In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate all of the following KSAs: Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring. Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program. Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s). Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice. **Your resume must demonstrate how you meet the KSAs** References: VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G39 Social Worker Qualification Standards, GS 0185. Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, kneeling, stooping, extending, grasping and participation in Whole Health activities which may be physical in nature; driving motor vehicles such as a sedan or van, pushing carts, etc. The work may involve driving of an automobile and going in and out of a variety of setting at the medical facility and in the community. The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-12.
