This position is located at a National Park Service unit and the incumbent provides technical budget assistance.
Duties
This is a permanent, full-time position. This incumbent provides budget and fiscal support services to Voyageurs National Park and Apostle Islands National Lakeshore as part of the shared services agreement between the two National Park Service units. It reports to the Budget Analyst on Voyageurs' staff.
Primary duties include completing budget formulation for multiple, varying fund sources.
Fiscal reconciliation responsibilities include routine payroll reconciliation, transferring expenditures to correct accounting strings, and completing monthly revenue audits.
Work is performed by entering data into a variety of forms and software programs and editing/drafting a variety of documents.
Incumbent will also prepare fiscal reports for supervisor's review. Work is performed in an office setting using a variety of office equipment including personal computers, printers, copiers, and scanners.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.
To qualify for this position at the GS-06 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors).Specialized experience for this position includes but is not limited to: 1) Assists in conducting finance and budget analyst functions and coordinating the preparation of the operating budget; 2) Assists in the financial budgets and formulation of budget estimates; 3) Performs a segment of the evaluative work of an administrative function; identifies issues or problems and seeks alternative solutions consistent with applicable regulations. Works with guidance from higher graded budget staff in completing assignments; completed work is reviewed for effectiveness in meeting goals; guidelines such as regulations, evaluation criteria, and precedents have gaps in specificity. You must include hours per week worked.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Examples of such experience includes assisting with the development of yearly budget, including preparation of instructions to managers regarding funding estimates and budget planning for fiscal year; tracking expenditures by proper accounts and type; providing information on salaries and funding ceilings for incorporation into budget planning, preparation, and execution; analyzing and evaluating changes in program plans and funding and their effect on the budget; preparing financial reports consistent with regulations and guidelines; preparing data summaries for routine and special projects; and providing training and leadership in budget planning and execution. You must include hours per week worked.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
