You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INVESTIGATOR in the Office of the Fleet Inspector General (IG), Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet.

Duties

You will direct the operations of the Investigations Program. You will serve as the Program Manager for the Commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet (COMPACFLT) IG Investigations Program, Supervisor and Chief Investigator of the Fraud, Waste, and Abuse Prevention Program. You will manage the Hotline program with an emphasis on Military Whistleblower Reprisal (MWBR) cases; conduct and assign investigations into all matters involving MWBR, fraud, waste, abuse and mismanagement within the COMPACFLT enterprise. You will develop capability and capacity to effectively respond to MWBR and Hotline complaints in accordance with statutory requirements. You will task Echelon 3 investigation activity, based on the evaluation of the nature of the complaint articulating specific investigative, reporting requirements and deadlines. You will conduct life cycle management of all Hotline complaints within the COMPACFLT enterprise.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: supervising civilian and military Investigative personnel, sets priorities and determines goals and strategies to achieve them, applies effective and concise oral and written communication for intended audiences and initiates congressional inquiries and Acquisition integrity investigations programs that involve broad scope and have far reaching effects on discriminatory, harassing, abusive, unsafe or wasteful practices in the US Navy.
