Independently performs maintenance used at the journeyman level of several occupations. The job performs a combination of maintenance, repair, modification, equipment operation and equipment inspection/certification involving diverse skills.

Duties

Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Incumbent maintains repairs and operates air conditioning refrigeration equipment. The incumbent performs journeyman level duties on air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, air handling units, air compressors, pumps and other miscellaneous equipment. The incumbent performs visual examinations and operational tests of aforementioned equipment; starts and stops equipment. The incumbent takes readings of pressures and temperatures shown on various gauges and enters data in operating logs. The incumbent takes readings of cooling tower water and adds chemicals to prevent algae and scaling of tubes; checks temperature and humidity readings to ensure conditions are correct for operating rooms and makes proper adjustments. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday. 8:00am-4:30pm.
