You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (NUCLEAR) in the Nuclear Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF.
Duties
You will serve as the Estimating Section Supervisor of the Nuclear Planning and Estimating Branch.
You will direct, assign, schedule, and prioritize work that include the initiating of material procurement, estimating costs of accomplishing work, and preparing and issuing job specifications to production, engineering, and inspection teams.
You will develop goals and objectives that are assigned to subordinates based on priorities and considering the experience required and capabilities of the assigned employee.
You will provide or establish metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.
You will identify and implement process improvements to eliminate or reduce significant bottlenecks and barriers in test processes and increase the quality of products delivered.
You will perform detailed reviews of all planning and estimating products and actions that ensure they are consistent with all corporate, shipyard, department, and project established funding/tasking policies and strategies.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- This position may require some walking, bending, lifting, and driving.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector managing the planning and estimating of activities to support the maintenance and repair of Naval Nuclear Propulsion Plants and associated support facilities through the allocation and utilization of workforce resources (i.e., manning, equipment, supplies, space, training), to ensure production and radiological control requirements for ship overhaul projects are met.
