You will serve as a Planner & Estimator (General) in the Facility and Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will be responsible for the accomplishment of plant improvement and modernization projects. You will be working from engineering plans and specifications furnished and any revisions that result from work site inspections and consult with engineers and determine materials required. You will prepare an itemized list of materials for procurement according to specifications. You will research NSN (National Stock Number) to insure materials required will be available.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: A I have performed journey level duties in the structural trades and have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including: 1) Extract data from multiple sources (i.e. blueprints, engineering plans, multi-view drawings, schematics, sketches, and specifications) to develop a comprehensive plan conducive to effective fabrication, maintenance, and modernization processes; 2) Analyze work to be accomplished and develop a comprehensive plan including trade requirements, material requirements, and sequence of operations; 3) Evaluate work requests for accuracy and estimate labor and material costs for fabrication, maintenance, and modernization projects; 4) Prepare an itemized list of materials for procurement according to job specifications; 5) Manage maintenance-related inventory including establishing high and low stocking levels, re-ordering material as needed to maintain stocking levels, and excessing material when prudent to do so. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. B I have performed journey level duties in the structural trades and have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including: 1) Utilize blueprints, engineering plans, multi-view drawings, schematics, sketches, and specifications to plan trade requirements, material requirements, and sequence of operations; 2) Evaluate work requests for accuracy and estimate labor and material costs for fabrication, maintenance, and modernization projects; 3) Prepare an itemized list of materials for procurement according to job specifications; 4) Manage maintenance-related inventory including establishing high and low stocking levels, re-ordering material as needed to maintain stocking levels, and excessing material when prudent to do so. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. C I have performed journey level duties in the structural trades and have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Interpret blueprints, engineering plans, schematics, and specifications; 2) Estimate labor and material costs for fabrication, maintenance and modernization projects; 3) Prepare an itemized list of materials for procurement.
