You will serve as a Rigger in the Facility & Infrastructure Management Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will assemble and repair standing and running rigging to place and support new commercial and prototype mechanical systems. You will interpret and explain work instructions and blueprints for employees when necessary for the completion of rigging assignments. You will inspect and repair slings, nets, pendants, and other rigging gear used in day-to-day operations. You will use measuring instruments (e.g., voltmeter) to detect malfunctions in rigging or weight handling equipment. You will maintain a safe and clean work environment by applying safety practices, rules, and regulations. You will Perform continuous manual maintenance work (e.g., sweeping, brushing, straightening, lining up tools) to maintain facilities.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is the following; I have the ability to do the position without more than normal supervision. 1) Rig and hang scaffolds and staffing for use of various trades. 2) Attaches appropriate lifting gear and maneuver, tilt, and control load, as necessary, by means of attached lines and rigging, or directs others in these tasks. 3) Performs and directs testing of lifting and handling equipment.
