You will serve as a Toolmaker in the Production lines division of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST.
Duties
You will adapt and set up machine tools to perform special and precise machining operations by constructing fixtures and holding devices.
You will design and fabricate holding fixtures, die, tools, jigs (e.g., pot chuck holders for gang machining), holding mandrels, hold down clamps, and radius and threading tools for machine tool projects.
You will read and understand blueprints, models, sketches, or other instructions to determine and identify specific toolmaking material requirements.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision such as: 1.Manufacturing and fabricating various tools, dies, fixtures, jigs, measuring devices, molds, and parts to be used in the maintenance and overhaul of aircraft, engines, and components and equipment used by the facility 2.Researching and developing shop processes instructions on machine operations and shop floor programming techniques 3.Serving as senior CNC toolmaker and providing technical insight in the measurement and inspection procedures that govern the first production runs (FPRs) of the production parts which includes critical safety item parts 4. Using the coordinate measuring machine (CMM) and the Cameo software and model base definition (MDB) filed required for product inspection 5. Checking attesting to dimensional accuracy of existing large and complex tools, jigs, fixtures, and gages and making necessary corrections to render such items dependable for use by other workers.
