Employee serves as Maintenance Supervisor WS-10, in the Facilities Management Service/Engineering Section at the Orlando VA Healthcare System. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the day to day supervision, planning, coordination and directing of a variety of maintenance, minor construction and operational issues and concerns as they relate to the following trades; Carpentry, Masonry, Painting, Cabinetry, Sheet Metal, Sign Shop and General Maintenance.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Assign work to specific craftmen, initiate work orders, monitor preventative maintenance program.
Ensure materials and tools are on hand and ensure deadlines are met.
Determine priority, sequence and time for particular operations and coordinate with other sections, divisions and contractors for work at hand.
Responsible to follow through on assignments and projects to ensure they are completed as directed for the Baldwin campus, Lake Nona campus and Lakemont campus.
Required to be a Contracting Officer Representative for all contracts related to Maintenance & Structural projects.
Verify time and attendance records, arrange leave schedules and authorizes leave for assigned employees.
Maintain subordinate employee's performance program by administering performance ratings and reviews initial grievances and/or refers them to M&O General Foreman, if not resolved at front line level.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Tuesday-Saturday, Sunday-Thursday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: The work requires standing and walking during the entire workday throughout the entire VA Medical Center campus and attending to the satellite clinics. This is done though most of the day's work for extended period of time. Subordinate employees conduct work throughout several buildings and widely dispersed among numerous job sites. The employee visits medical treatment and regulated areas such as wards, clinics, operating room, SPD, etc.
