About the Position: Serves as the Equal Employment Manager for the New Orleans District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This position will be located in New Orleans, LA and will allow for situational telework. This position is NOT eligible for full time telework.

Duties

Develops and administers the local program for processing informal and formal complaints within established time limits. Assures that District commander/Deputy Commander is at all times well-briefed as to specific program objectives, action plan projects, actual and potential problems of relationships with minority groups and obstacles to optimum accomplishment. Arranges for proper training and provides leadership and administrative supervision to EEO Advisory Committee. Prepares complete accurate and timely reports to the Director of EEO on pre-complaint counseling activities, the status of formal complaints in process, and the disposition of complaints closed for the Department at the activity level.

Specialized experience at the GS-12 is defined as: Applying federal EEO principles, laws, regulations and policies to provide assistance and guidance to EEO counselors on complex problematic EEO matters; AND Developing methods for monitoring affirmative action progress and administration of the EEO complaints process; AND Monitoring complaint activities to identify systemic problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Analysis and ResearchAssessment and Compliance ReviewCommunicationsProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
