The primary purpose of this position is to provide printing services support to the 637th TRG as part of the Logistics Flight Supply Operations Section, 637th TRSS Logistics Flight (TLF) in the Defense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC).
Duties
Provide In-House Printing Production. Receive and interpret print requests.
Coordinate commercial printing support to maintain established inventory levels.
Maintain administrative files. Maintain reference files and literature required to perform work assignments on in house production equipment, and to maintain knowledge of commercial printing processes and standards.
Printing quality assurance. Inspect preproduction proofs to ensure compliance with printing specifications, color correctness, and overall project quality.
Maintain equipment. Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment such as cleaning, restocking, and adjustment.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Printing Services Series 1654.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of the basic principles, concepts, and methodology used in printing services. Knowledge, skill and ability to setup, operate, adjust, and maintain printing equipment and electronic duplicating systems with network and media conversion capabilities. Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to be able to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports. Knowledge and skill in using the equipment's capability to program new jobs and duplicate jobs concurrently in order to utilize the full productive capabilities of the system. Basic knowledge of accounting techniques to manage funds authorized and account for expenditures.

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field with a major course of study in journalism, business administration, English composition, commerce, accounting, printing or printing engineering, graphic or commercial art, industrial engineering, or economics OR Bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, education must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-05 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of the functions and policies of departments within DLIELC sufficient to properly accomplish printing requests.
Ability to operate and diagnose printing, copying, folding, binding, cutting, hole punch/drill, and packaging equipment.
Knowledge of basic accounting and mathematical formulas to determine proper and accurate costing for requisitioned material, automated system financial reports, accounting methods, and record filing procedures and proper records for statistical and historical data costing and budgeting while utilizing automated system to input and extract data, create reports, and maintain automated files.
Knowledge of the functions, instructions and notices of government agencies such as the Government Printing Office and the Defense Printing Service to explain printing needs in correct terminology, and ability to acquire printing services supply functions and inventory management procedures sufficient to control stock of printed materials.
Ability to deal or negotiate effectively with agency, GPO and commercial contractor personnel through verbal, personal, and written contact.
Ability to analyze prices, cost factors, and contractor equipment in relation to invitation for bids while being able to evaluate quality and production capabilities of contractors.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
