THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT, Position Description Number D1258000 and is part of the PA Surface Maintenance Office, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

Duties

As a Management Assistant, GS-0334-07, you will aid functional areas in identifying areas of record documentation and procedures which can be streamlined, combined, or improved and initiates methods to operate under new or revised system. Compute personnel requirements based on density and manpower equivalents using Surface Maintenance Requirements database or equivalent. Ensure inventory and recall system is accurate and concise and follows up to ensure all items are turned in for calibration as scheduled. Responsible for scheduling and coordination of the Depot Calibration Team with the supporting US Army Depot. Coordinate with NGB to recommend both system and functional revisions to the standard army maintenance reporting system. Visit maintenance activities (CSMS, MATES, UTES, FMS) on a periodic basis to assure compliance with directives or to advise on management procedures. Monitor the Quality Deficiency Reports and Equipment Improvement Recommendations Programs. Review submissions for adoption of suggestion and recommends monetary awards.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

• Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.

Qualifications

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Dual Status Excepted Service Technician position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees working at the location specified AOC 2: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC 3: All Service Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (to include Temporary Technicians) Military Grades: Warrant Officer: WO1-CW3 Enlisted: E1-E9 Supervisor for this position is CW3 Hare GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which demonstrate clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 12 months of experience analyzing maintenance data, preparing reports, developing standard operating procedures, and analyzing manpower utilization reports. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
