You will serve as a FIREFIGHTER in the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center Fire Department (MCMWTC Fire) of MARINE CORPS AIR GROUND COMBAT CTR.
Duties
You will respond to all structure fires, operate hydrants, deploy fire hose lines, perform ladder operations, operate fire nozzles, and other fire extinguishing equipment to effect fire suppression.
You will respond to all medical emergencies and provide for the rescue and on scene stabilization for victims of fire, sudden illness, accidental injuries, childbirth, and other events requiring medical personnel.
You will respond to all hazardous materials incidents as required.
You will participate in all drills and classroom training to maintain level of proficiency to perform required duties.
You will perform daily preventative maintenance inspections of firefighting tools and equipment.

- You must possess a current American Heart Association certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- You will be required to obtain and maintain United States Forest Service Wildland Firefighter Red Card certification within one year from date of employment.
- You must possess and maintain IFSAC or NPQS equivalent DoD Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations and for GS-7 consideration, Driver/Operator Pumper.
- You must possess a current State or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Life Support (NREMT-B) certification.
- You must possess and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- Required to work a seventy-two (72) hour work week and is subject to overtime and recall during off duty hours.
Qualifications
GS-07: In addition to possessing all necessary certifications, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience much demonstrate the following: As a Firefighter responding to all structure fires, operate hydrants, lay hose lines, ladder operation, operate nozzle and other extinguishing equipment to effect fire suppression.
GS-05: In addition to possessing all necessary certifications, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: As a Firefighter performing the duties of rescue operations in structural firefighting operations, responding to hazardous material emergencies and providing emergency medical treatment including but not limited to Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Education
GS-05:
Specialized experience at the GS-05 level may be substituted with the successful completion of a 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university with major study in Fire Science, Fire Training, or other related fields of study leading to a bachelor degree; OR a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. Your percentage of the required education plus your percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
