Qualifications

All qualifications and eligibility requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. To qualify for this position at the IC-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Applying insurance principles, concepts, and methods relating to insurance claims handling; and insurance processing and issuance of policies, endorsements and notices of cancellations; Reviewing project worksheets and insurance policies to determine disaster assistance insurance coverage; and Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of program operations.  OR Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. OR LL.M., if related OR Combination of education and experience (if required)   To qualify for this position at the IC-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:  Analyzing and interpreting insurance principles, concepts, and policies to ensure compliance with federal laws, regulations, and guidance; Monitoring insurance related workload to ensure proper resources are available to provide timely responses; and  Reviewing work of other insurance specialists to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance.
